LAGS' NEWS

APRIL 2008 27th. Things have gone very quiet again but the site counter tells me people are still visiting here. The wife and I went to Wolverhampton t'other night to see a band called Bellowhead. They are an 11 piece folk/big band with a terrific sound, I can honestly say it is the best concert I've been to since college days when I saw an embryonic Steelye Span. Don't pass by an opportunity to see them, you won't regret it! MARCH 2008 12th. Had an email today from old lag John Sheath who is presently living en france. I am sure he would like to hear from anyone who remembers him. He is still in contact with Edgecumbe Parsons Diane Lodge (née Jones), Dave Hill and Cheryl James. His email is on 'Lags' Contact'. Tres bon n'est pas. 10th Thanks to eagle-eyed Pete Williams for some corrections to names on the Sports Lags pages which I have now made. 5th. It's all gone quiet at present but dear old Tim has sent me the most recent Letter from America, which you will find on that page. Apparantly it is pretty cold over there and Tim has been busy blowing snow off his mini every morning! No such problems here in blighty thank god, we just have soaring fuel, heating, electricity, food and every other bill you can think of. I shall have to go back to work! FEBRUARY 2008 14th. Scanned in a programme from the 1970 Snowball and placed it in Lagorabilia 4. Not too sure about the date, if you know different, please let me know. 11th. I have given Bert a page to enable him to tell you about the charity cycle ride he is planning this November, please take a look. 6th. I noticed today that 'College in the news' was missing and I wondered if I ever released it. Any way it is there now for your persusal. 4th. Had an email today from Mike Hallet who did a BEd at St Matts in the seventies and his wife Ros Haigh who was also there. Hopefully he is going to send some pictures in the near future. I'm of the opinion that the Memories/Message Board is very rarely used and is not particularly user friendly therefore I am considering removing it. Does anyone think it is worth keeping? JANUARY 2008 22nd. Tony Garland has sent me a couple of photos of Table Tennis trophies that the college won in 1969-71, (don't ask me why he still has them!)They are also accompanied by a short article. See Sports Lags 3 16th. Do any of you have Skype? It is a free internet phone service, all you need is a computer and a microphone, (it helps if you also have a web cam), and you can have free (video) calls to anybody who is connected to Skype anywhere in the world. The download is free and can be found at the link I have put in below. Before you start thinking 'what's Ade getting out of advertising it' the answer is 'nothing', it just seems too good to be true! If you decide to get Skype and you would like to get in touch with other old lags who also have it, it might be worth me showing your Skype user name on the contacts list. 10th Just in case you are not familiar with this site the 'news' from previous years is available as a word document form the links below. 6th.A happy and prosperous new year to you all. Without new material there is very little more I can do to this site so it's over to my visitors to get up their lofts and dig stuff out. Photos or Lagorabilia can be scanned and sent if you are technically minded or snail mailed if you are not and I will return items A.S.A.P. What are you waiting for??

Friends Reunited..... Basically this site has gone down the pan since being sold. It is now, first and foremost, after your cash and is also quite s l o w. Still, worth a look as many old lags are signed up.
